  The Twilight Zone...any fans?

  i am a huge fan of the twilight zone and i wondered if anyone on the board was a fan.

  since the strangeness of the whole series mirrors my own jw life in some ways i found several episodes strangely fascinating.

  interestingly my first experience watching it was in the reprised version of the series in the 80's and there was an episode where a shadowy figure lived under a kid's bed in return he would not hurt the owner until... and that's what i think made the series unique in how they added a twist that made every episode special, disturbing, or thought-provoking.

  question about deja vu & precognition???

  i have a question to anyone out there that are practicing wicca and/or are interested paganism.

  a little background on me....as a little jw i never bought into the religion, however i had no choice on the subject as most of you can identify with.

  when i was young, probably till the time i was around 14-15 i would have extreme deja vu.

  one theory holds that there is the realm known as the astral plane where all thoughts and plans exist first and when given enough energy, some of them actually come to exist here afterwards. this theory goes that some are more able to see this realm than others, and that occasionally they can see what is coming by the joint planning of many minds...however sometimes these plans crumble and so their premonitions are not 100% ... like there are many reports of people envisioning the 9-11 attack just days before it happened...etc.

  Nicola Tesla was said to be able to imagine [read created in the astral] a full machine, make it run and come back weeks later without having thought about it in the mean time..and then see which parts were waring so as to fix it in this realm...

  I have also read that some like the rosicrucians who have mastered the art of building on that level have a temple there which they bring new ones to visit.

  I know I have in dreams visitied many parallel worlds, perhaps that is where they arise and exist.

  also magick is said to be about making the astral image strong enough to manifest here.

  its often about timing.... I had a dream of a helicopter landing on my car and not two days later I was bringing my god daughter

  to the hosp to deliver her 2nd child and a helicopter came right over my car and landed very close to it....

  if it were a week or two later I might not even find it odd....but within 2 days having such a vivid dream and then watching what seemed

  like a very near fulfillment makes it stand out.... I have had dreams of air craft in the past, but generally on the order of one ever 10 years or so.... coincidence? who knows.... it really did nothing but make me ponder... other than that it had no impact on my life at all.... other than to make one more odd conversation like this one....which I suppose has some value.

  most people have a feeling of de ja vu from something they cannot easily place....its like they may have dreamed it, or may have had some vision of it before, but they cannot put their finger on it.... this is usually caused by some sort of hiccup in the memory transfer system... you are actually comparing it to a memory you just made about three seconds ago, but for some reason it was not tagged properly and you cant identify it properly

  i didn't go to the district convention this year.

  my mom however did and she sends out a daily text email every day.

  she asked all members of the email group to share their favorite part of the convention.

  when the Ex and I were inactive they basically let us alone for a full year....then they came around when

  they knew they could get my ex alone and tried to seduce her back under my nose.... little did they know

  that she was out a full two years before I even knew it...she was just playing along.... it was too emotionally

  stressful for her to leave until we were married and I found my way to inactivity.....

  they did not give a rats ass for me, they simply assumed since I came from out of town it was me who

  lead to HER down fall..

  when they could not get us back....and they could not force us out.....they simply told everyone I quit.

  today, when i was out in field service, this chick kept playing with my hair all day, then at the restaurant she was feeling up all over me.

  if you hear what NOT to do over and over again.... your mind is flooded with the images and sensations of this forbidden behavior

  and it builds an emotional energy charge which can over power all other desires when it gains sufficient strength.... then you act and you find yourself flooded by guilt when all the other desires are once again in control... and so you determined NOT to do it again...and begin the process of flooding your mind with the very same emotional energy which caused you to stumble in the first place.... it becomes a viscious cycle.

  this question came out of a discussion i was having with a preacher of a no-denominational church.

  he was trying to convince me of the truth of the trinity doctrine.

  perhaps the whole issue is just a poorly formed question....

  where does it say anywhere in the bible that any of the angels were created?

  and when it uses the term created, what is meant? everywhere in the bible the word means to make some sort of

  order out of some sort of chaos, never ex nihlo or from nothing.... man was not created from nothing, but from the earth

  and angels may have been created out of the very stuff of elohim or ruach, but not from nothing...

  to say Jesus was not created would not really mean anything other than he was always God....but since he is a completely seperate person from Jehovah, the father, than he is also a 2nd god if that is the case and no amount of silly trinitarian protests would change that.

  this stupid notion that there can be three people but only one god is just irrational formulation which works the faith driven masses better than logic and rationality as no one really wants a god you can figure out too easily

  just ex-jw who joined as adults.

  on another thread i pointed out the idea that most jw who join as adults, do so out of a need to compensate for or as a reaction to some bad experiences such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, a time of upheaval, or just a plain old poorly developed sense of self.

  in 1986-? I read a book called subliminal seduction which spoke of mind control by means of advertisers hiding images in the art work

  and I swore to myself if I ever caught JWs doing the same thing I would be out....

  though I had many disturbing questions along the way, none of them were enough for me to chuck the majority I had accepted until

  I found what seemed like clear evidence they were using subliminals in 1990.... even that might not have completely tipped the balance for me but I also at the same time found a book called armageddon delayed , which let me see the whole history of JWs at a glance... information that I had learned before but only in bits and pieces.... seeing it all at once without trying to make excuses for each little bit as I had done before.... was a real eye opener... It was like coming out of a hypnotic trance which had prevented me from seeing all this lunacy at once and rejecting it..... seeing it bit by bit over time allowed the trance to keep my mind hiding the overall image that this book so clearly showed.

  which is why I suspect a lot of the B.ORG are honestly believing they have found THE TRUTH, even while harboring a massive amount of doubts... they are just as entranced and unable to put it all together as I was until something breaks the trance.

  In the most widely publicized studies of the effect of intercessory prayer, cardiologist Randolph Byrd studied 393 patients admitted to the coronary-care unit at San Francisco General Hospital. Some were prayed for by home-prayer groups, others were not. All the men and women got medical care. In this randomized, double-blind study, neither the doctors and nurses nor the patients knew who would be the object of prayer.

  if this is the one widely publized a few years ago, as it seems to be, the scientists later found the books were cooked and none of the data could be considered reliable after that.... the founder of the study was a lady who grew up among faith healers and when she got brain cancer immediately went straight to the medical profession for help.... her friends did find out about it but all their prayers did nothing to prevent her death.
